A big well done to all the guys at HTL

This Xmas it was agreed that rather than spending money and time writing out cards to each other, we would donate £5.00 each for charity. This year we managed to raise a grand total of £270.00 to go towards the ‘4 Louis Charity’ where they all do a sterling job helping bereaved parents overcome the loss over their young ones by helping make a devastating experience a little more bearable by letting families' know they are not alone.

Another key appointment for HTL!

HTL are proud Sponsors of Keith Football Club.

Pictured is HTL’s ‘Martin Nicholson’ at Keith’s Training Ground presenting the Club Manager ‘Graham McBeath’ with their new Kit.

The club was formed in 1912 and joined the Scottish Highland League in 1926.

They first won the Highland League Championship in 1961 and have won the competition another seven times since. They have also won the Highland League Cup a record 10 times, the most recent being May 2013.

Their most famous former player is Colin Hendry, who went on to play for Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers, Glasgow Rangers and was capped 55 times for Scotland.

HTL wish Keith FC all the luck for 2014 and hopefully will bring some silverware home!

 

 

 

HTL strengthen their international focus with new senior appointment

HTL are pleased to announce that Jon Naylor has joined them as their Global Business Development Director.

Jon brings a wealth of experience having worked for a variety of engineering companies providing products and services to the Offshore Oil and Gas, Power Generation, Process and Renewable Industries, six years of which were previously also in the hydraulic bolting industry. Across almost three decades Jon has specialised in international business development building businesses on behalf of both UK and international owners and parent companies and has won a number of regional business development awards in recognition of his success.

Jon will focus on bringing the HTL range of 100% British designed, manufactured and assembled Hydraulic Torque Wrenches and complimentary products such as the “No Flog” backing wrench replacing the need for using Flogging Spanners and Hammers to international markets by establishing a network of agents and distributors across the globe.

The HTL Asia Pacific stand looking fantastic at the Oil and Gas exhibition in Jakarta. What a great exhibition it was too, with some fantastic interest in the new HTL Wrench along with some cracking enquires for the guy’s at HTL-Hydrapress! This achievement demonstrates our commitment to minimise risks to our workforce and visitors or external contractors on our premises. The standard will enable HTL to put in place processes for continually reviewing and improving occupational Health and Safety.

ISO 18001 standard is internationally accepted as a method of assessing and auditing occupational Health and Safety management systems. Developed by leading trade and international standards bodies, it is providing a framework for HTL to continually instigate proper and effective management of Health & Safety in our workplace.

Well Done West Denton Juniors!

Due to finishing 3^rd in league 2 after an impressive unbeaten run of 16 games on their 1^st attempt, our adopted team ‘West Denton Juniors’ had the great honour of being invited to play in the prestige ‘Tata Steel’ Cup.

 Playing against only the top teams around the North of England, ‘West Denton Juniors’ managed to reach the final of the McKinley Cup, but were narrowly beaten by the inform ‘Cramlington Juniors’. Manager ‘Paul Hartley’ described this as a ‘’fantastic achievement and hope to build on this success in the future!

 

 

 

We’re on the move! 

We are proud to announce we have acquired a substantially larger facility (65,300sq.ft) based in Cramlington, Northumberland to become the new home for our HTL Head Office.

This is a great indicator of how our company has grown as a result of everyone’s hard work and commitment to our on-going expansion and journey to become a true global supplier!

This represents the largest investment ever made by HTL and will provide a solid foundation for our expanding operation for the foreseeable future. It is planned for our new Head Office relocation to be completed early 2014. 

Aberdeen’s dedicated Calibration Facility!

Already renowned for our dedication to the service of the offshore industry, HTL have added another dimension to our Aberdeen Facility. HTL, Aberdeen has recently invested in the latest state of the art ‘Calibration Rigs’ and Bolt Tensioner Test Beds.

In this day and age, it is imperative not only should your equipment be regularly serviced but also calibrated and certified, insuring the torque and tension you require is actually what is produced!

 

 

Feat of Engineering

HTL while working through our Specialise On-Site Bolting and Training Division ‘Gastech’, have just completed an unusual On-Site Bolting task by aiding to erect a 20m-high Celtic cross erected as a landmark on the Cornwall county boundary. The two-tonne cross is made of carbon fibre and resin impregnated with copper and the cross was lifted into place by three cranes on the Saltash side of the River Tamar. The foundation bolts were tensioned by the Gastech Bolting Technicians by utilising SRT2 (M24) Tensioners. The colour of the cross's pillar is achieved by the oxidisation of the copper,
impregnated in resin and then bead-blasted to bring the copper to the surface. Liam Bradley, chairman of the Saltash Waterfront Residents Association commented "We hope it will become an iconic landmark, our version of the Angel of the North and  expecting another 50,000 visitors in the town every year!!

New Calibration Facility!

HTL have recently completed the revamp on their old Calibration Facilities by investing in the latest state of the art Calibration Equipment and ‘bespoke’ Calibration Rigs. This has been in the planning for the previous 6 months with the Product Development Manager ‘Michael Brewis’ leading the team in the new layout, design and sourcing the latest technology in the Calibration Industry, making this the HTL Facility the UK’s leader in the Calibration of all your Hydraulic / Pressure Gauges and Torque Tooling up to 100,000NM’s.

After strengthening their squad during the summer, Lewis Utd are hoping to improve on last season’s 3^rd spot in the Northeast of Scotland ‘A’ league and to beating their nearest rivals ‘Albion Boys’ whom finished one spot ahead of them!

As well as being in the Northeast of Scotland ‘A’ league ‘Lewis Utd’ travel the length and breadth of Scotland entering various competitions one of which is the National Scottish cup. Fingers crossed they can bring back the Silverware!!

The Automatic Torque Pump

New developed by HTL the Auto-Pump offers a fully automated operation allowing the operator to pre-set the pressure then activate the pump to work continuously. Operating hands free until the pump reaches the pre-set pressure. This ensures less operator fatigue, quicker tightening as well as ensure consistency bolt for bolt reliability.

All our Torque Pumps come complete with four port manifold allowing the simultaneous use of up to four torque wrenches, saving tme, fatigue and money.

CONGRATULATIONS TO WEST DENTON JUNIORS!!!

 We are proud to announce West Denton Juniors have just won the Pin Point Recruitment Junior Football League 3!

They were unbeaten the whole way through and won by a massive 6 points. On winning the title their manager ‘Paul Hartley’ it was down to a huge amount of team work and effort, with a great deal of emphasis on their style of play in one touch passing! ‘Paul’ also made a special mention  of one of their strikers, ‘Antoni Spencer’, whom scored 4 hat tricks in the season!

 Same again for next year!

 After coaches ‘Paul Hartley’ and ‘Alan Carr’ were awarded coaches of the season for 2010, having rebuilt the team from the brinks of folding after only 3 players were registered, are now currently celebrating their 30^th year with a strong squad of up to 17 registered players!!

  The league is ran by pin point recruitment for the F.A. and are currently sitting top in the second half, 3 points ahead with 2 games to go and a game in hand!

West Denton have reached the final of a Tournament in Warwick Bridge for the last 2 years running only to be beat on penalties, and are playing again later this season, so fingers crossed 3^rd time lucky!!!

Congratulations Scott!

HTL would like to say a big congratulations to ‘Scott Collins’ on passing his apprenticeship!

Scott started with the company back in June 2009 as an Apprentice Service Engineer and started his training straight away beginning with NVQ level 2. Covering a total of 6 modules such as working safely in an engineering environment, assembling and testing fluid power systems.

 After achieving a level 2 NVQ in ‘Engineering practices’ ‘Scott’ then moved on to the NVQ level 3, becoming qualified in the roles of “carrying out fault diagnosis on fluid power” and “maintain fluid power in engineering maintenance (Fluid power).

 As well as completing the NVQ’s, ‘Scott’ has been hard at work over the last 2 years studying for a BTEC in Mechanical  Engineering. The BTEC covered subjects such as Maths, Health and Safety, CNC, Mechanical Principles, properties and applications of engineering materials,  Engineering Drawing, Business, Engineering, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, and various Projects.

Although these qualifications have been gained, this is not stopping ‘Scott’ from learning further, by going for an HNC in Mechanical Engineering!!!

After congratulating ‘Scott’, ‘He would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at HTL for their help and support throughout his apprenticeship’.
